First World War Memorial Grave Dedication

The Lord-Lieutenant attended the Service of Dedication for a memorial to Grace Sharp that took place at Dunblane Cathedral.

Grace, from Dunblane, served in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during the First World War and sadly died in Montrose Royal Infirmary on 2 March 1918.

She was brought home to Dunblane, accompanied by a detachment of soldiers, where she was buried, with military honours, in the graveyard on the North side of the Cathedral.

Her grave has been unmarked for many years, but the Commonwealth War Graves Commission has now erected a memorial grave stone marking her final resting place.

Lest We Forget.
